Medicare Rebates

All the Psychologists and Accredited Mental Health Social Workers in the practice are registered with Medicare to provide evidence-based treatment.  Medicare rebates are available for up to 10 sessions per calendar year .

To be eligible for the rebate, you will need to book a long consultation appointment with your General Practitioner (GP) and obtain both a Referral Letter and a Mental Health Care Plan.  Please note that Medicare rebates only apply to individual sessions. Couples and family sessions do not usually attract a rebate.

A re-referral is required after the number of sessions on your initial referral is exhausted.

If you are referred by your psychiatrist, only a referral letter is needed.

Private Health & other Funding options

All the practitioners in the practice are registered with the major private health funds. 

The rebate from each health fund may vary.  Some health funds require their clients to have exhausted their Medicare-funded sessions for the year before private health fund rebate is applicable for psychological or counselling services.  Please check with your health fund provider for details. 

At this stage, only certain clinicians are accepting clients funded under NDIS and other third parties, such as WorkCover and TAC. Please check with our Client Support Team for further information.
